Plasencia Cosecha 151 La Tradición

The Plasencia Cosecha 151 La Tradición is the Toro in the Cosecha 151 range and the largest of its three sizes, at 5 7/8 x 54. It is a 100% Honduran puro, with wrapper, binder and filler all grown on Plasencia family farms from the 2016 harvest, the family’s 151st. The dark, oily wrapper has a Colorado Maduro shade and covers a Honduran binder and long filler.

The first third of the Plasencia Cosecha 151 La Tradición opens with spiced earth and roasted Maragogipe coffee, along with toasted pecans. Through the middle, dark chocolate and prunes add a sweet, fruity depth, and cedar comes through behind them. The last third settles into cinnamon, oak and a touch of spice, and the finish stays smooth and well balanced rather than harsh.

The 54 ring gauge keeps the smoke cool, with an easy draw and an even burn. A smoke takes about 50 minutes, which suits an evening cigar with coffee, dark rum or bourbon. It is hand rolled with long filler at the Plasencia factory in Honduras.
