Plasencia Alma Fuerte Robustus I

Description

The Plasencia Alma Fuerte Robustus I is a box pressed 5 1/4 x 52 Robusto made from aged tobaccos grown in four Nicaraguan regions: Estelí, Condega, Jalapa and Ometepe. A dark, oily Nicaraguan wrapper covers Nicaraguan binder and filler, so the cigar is a full Nicaraguan puro. The blend is Plasencia’s original Alma Fuerte, which means “strong soul.”

The smoke opens with leather, earth and dark chocolate, with black pepper and a touch of raisin. Espresso, plum and cinnamon come through in the middle, with toasted nuts and a gentle sweetness, and the finish carries oak and molasses. The strength builds toward the end, but the flavours stay rich and well balanced.

The box press gives the Robusto a firm, squared shape with a cool draw, which suits a medium to full bodied smoke of about an hour. It is hand rolled with long filler at the Plasencia factory in Nicaragua.
