Description
The Plasencia Alma Fuerte Eduardo I is a 6 1/4 x 54 Toro wrapped in a Jalapa Colorado Claro leaf that has been aged for ten years. It is named for Eduardo Plasencia, one of the first family members to grow tobacco after leaving the Canary Islands for Cuba in 1865. The binder and filler are Nicaraguan and come from Plasencia’s own estates.
The smoke leads with cream, cedar and toasted almond, then moves to milk chocolate, cocoa, leather and natural earth. Nutmeg, white pepper and a gentle citrus note add depth to the finish, and the profile stays smooth and balanced. Strength builds slightly in the final third, but the cigar stays medium bodied.
Eduardo I is a traditional soft box press, unlike the hexagon Sixto I, and it gives a comfortable hold, a cool draw and generous smoke. A smoke takes about an hour and a quarter. It is hand rolled with long filler at the Plasencia factory in Nicaragua.
