La Galera Habano Cortador Torpedo cigars present the Habano blend in an elegant tapered 6 1/4 x 52 figurado format. Handcrafted by José “Jochy” Blanco at Tabacalera Palma in the Dominican Republic, this medium to full bodied Torpedo features a copper coloured Ecuadorian Habano wrapper, Dominican Corojo binder and Dominican Piloto Cubano, Criollo ’98 and Pelo de Oro long fillers.
The Ecuadorian Habano wrapper creates a warm profile of cedar, black coffee, caramel and fresh pepper. Dominican Corojo binder adds structure and aromatic spice, while the Piloto Cubano, Criollo ’98 and rare Pelo de Oro fillers contribute leather, earth, toasted wood and a rich natural sweetness. The tapered head focuses the smoke and offers a precise cut, while the 52 ring gauge provides a creamy, generous texture as the blend develops.
The cigar opens with cedar, earth, cocoa powder and black coffee before developing leather, caramel, roasted almond and sweet tobacco. A gentle citrus note and red pepper add brightness through the middle, while creamy wood and natural sweetness carry into a long finish of coffee, leather and spice. La Galera Habano Cortador Torpedo pairs well with espresso, aged rum, bourbon, an amber ale or a medium bodied red wine.
