E.P. Carrillo La Historia E-III—often listed by retailers as E-111—is a medium-full, box-pressed 6 7/8 x 54 Toro handmade in the Dominican Republic. It is the largest regular-production format in the La Historia line and was recognized as Cigar Aficionado’s No. 2 Cigar of the Year in 2014.

The blend reflects Ernesto Perez-Carrillo’s family history and signature balancing of multiple tobacco origins. A dark Mexican San Andrés wrapper surrounds an Ecuadorian Sumatra binder and Nicaraguan fillers, producing a deeply aromatic profile with richness, natural sweetness and a steady peppery backbone.

Expect notes of dark cocoa, espresso, earth, oak, cedar, leather, black pepper and dark-fruit sweetness. The cigar opens with a chocolate-and-coffee character, develops more wood, earth and leather through the middle, then finishes with lingering spice and a smooth, sweet Maduro-like depth.
