E.P. Carrillo Premier Collection Pledge Purple is a limited-edition, full-bodied Dominican cigar created as a rare, aged expression of the acclaimed Pledge blend. Crafted by Casa Carrillo under the direction of Ernesto Perez-Carrillo, this special release celebrates the enduring potential of the tobaccos used in the original Pledge, particularly its exceptionally aged wrapper leaf.
The cigar is presented exclusively in a 6 x 54 Toro format. A rare, 10-year-aged Connecticut-grown Havana-seed wrapper covers a Mexican binder and select Nicaraguan long fillers from Estelí, Condega and Ometepe. Extended aging gives the wrapper a deeper oiliness, greater natural sweetness and a more polished texture, while the Nicaraguan filler blend contributes strength, earth, spice and layered richness.
Expect flavours of dark chocolate, espresso, earth, cedar, leather, black pepper, roasted nuts, baking spice and subtle molasses-like sweetness. The cigar begins with deep cocoa, coffee and pepper, then settles into richer leather, earth and cedar through the middle. A creamy sweetness develops beneath the spice as the Toro progresses, creating a long, complex finish that remains powerful but controlled.
E.P. Carrillo Pledge Purple is best suited to experienced smokers seeking a rich, mature and collectible full-bodied cigar. Pair it with espresso, barrel-proof bourbon, aged rum, a full-bodied red wine, stout or a mature single-malt Scotch.
